story in January 2005 Trains magazine.

Item 2:
Passenger service on the Syracuse Branch expired on 15 September 1958, last
run to Oswego discontinued 13 February 1949, last train to Utica was 29
April 1950.  (Taber, DL&W in the 20th Century Vol 1)
