Greetings! Watch out here come my opinions on the ELHS. I live in
Jamestown NY and model the EL. I joined the ELHS to help me model the EL
more accurately. I model the Jamestown to Olean mainline. I am more
interested in the local area that the NYC or Chicago areas. I am happy
with the current setup but like someone said "what about after we are
gone/next generation". Good Question! My view on this is a He Said/She
Said situation. If you get three people together you will get three views!
What I would like to see is for someone to write up a proposal and
submit to the Board and or membership. I do not know which order would
be better. If you submit to the Board, could it get swept under the rug.
If you submit to the membership the Board might feel slighted as if you
went around Them.
I was at the Convention. I felt that there were a lot of people that
wanted to express their opinion but we ran out of time. This will not
happen overnight. It will take time to do it RIGHT and must be done
right. Yes mistakes can be corrected, but in an organization as big as
the ELHS it takes time to find and correct mistakes. I work for
Raymour/Flanigan Furniture, We put a new program in to help with
scheduling deliveries. It is setup by zip codes. We are still finding
errors and zip codes that are not in the program after a year.
I would like to help with this but I am not in a position where I
can travel a lot. That is why you have not seen me at many
meeting/conventions. I can express my opinion but remember it is only
"MY OPINION"
Thanks for listening Mike Dickinson ELHS#837
