In addition to the Santa Trains prowling around Lackawanna-land this weekend,
there will be a rare Sunday freight in Morris County, possibly in good
weather. NS's HO-2 out of Dover is running to Reheist Chemicals on the Gladstone
line, then to Washington, N.J.
The crew is called for 5:30 a.m. with blue GP40 3053 facing east. It'll
assemble its train of chooch, boxcar, acid car and red caboose, at East Dover and
run east to Summit where it needs to be by 7:00 a.m. to stay within the NJT
traffic. It's supposed to do Reheist about 7:30 a.m. and then run west to
Stirling siding where it will meet two passenger trains before returning to Summit,
then head west to Washington and later back to Dover. It'll be a full day
for the crew.
Happy hunting
Merry Christmas from Santa ....Mike Del Vecchio
