Hmmmmm. I will have to reread that. East Germany's Honecker and Romania's 
Celcescue also opposed free elections. But as we now know, that shortsighted 
policy created for them, a very unwelcome upheaval.  Hindsight is always 20-20. 
History will record that both of these gentleman, were unable to halt the 
inevitable.
