Knowing my interest in things E and L, my brother gave me this toy
locomotive to me for my birthday last year. He found it in an antique
shop.
It's about 2 inches long (the scan is slightly larger than actual
size.)
Notice it has "whistle" cast into the area behind the drivers. It's a
whistle!
It has "LOCO LITE" in the same place on the other side because....
It's also a tiny flashlight! That little notch behind the cab is a
switch that, when pushed forward, lights the headlight lens in the
front
of the smoke box.
And, of course, it's Erie # 2456. What Erie engine actually had that
number? I wonder why the manufacturer picked it...
Anyone know anything about this toy? Era? Anyone ever seen another?
There's no clue as to manufacturer. They must have picked Erie because
of its long standing reputation.
