I echo Rick's request, as it's important to document all elements of the 
history of EL and predecessors.  I have posted pieces from a few articles 
from early issues of Erie Magazine (circa 1910), when women began showing up 
in numbers as station agents and operators.  The tone of some of these 
articles gives a clue to how these women were probably treated!
