Jim,

I worked frquently with Charlie Howells and even broke in as dispatcher with 
him.  He was a real charactor.  He always wore what was called a Florida style 
flashy shirt (he never dressed up). This was worn outside of his pants to 
cover his rather large belly. 

You were right, Charlie could easily become hyper when something went wrong.
