KS,
Although I can't say with an exact date of when the last passenger/freight 
trains over the Mainline was, I did ride the last RDC 'passenger' shuttles 
Metro-North ran in the mid'80's.  I beleive these were initiated prior to or 
just after regular service started up via the Graham Line.

I remember running via Harriman and Middletown, and then running lite w/b to 
Howell's Jct., where we had to contact the dispatcher for the run back east 
via the Graham Line back to Suffern, which I believe was the last regularly 
schedule train over the line.
