  Frank Bookstaver or commonly known as "Bookie" is a real charactor. Having worked with him for a number of years in Hoboken was interesting to say the least.  His job was cut off in Cleveland and he bumped into Hoboken to protect his seniority back either around the creation of Conrail or just before it. Power Control (power distributors the guys who figure out what locomotives go on what trains) was borken up and he and Roy Berrian came to Hoboken around the same time.
   
  I'm sure Steve Timko can attest to the charactor part on Bookie!
   
  Bookies favorite saying was "What we need right now is big juicy derailment to really stir things up." He and Bob Collins were always trying to outdo each other when it came to sarcasim.

I heard that Frank is the oldest working Train Dispatcher in the entire
world!! I believe he is now 79 years old. Saw him going in the door at the
NJT Rail
Operations Center today at 1:45 p.m.
