Re: (erielack) EL Comet fleet
I'm told that like the MUs (when they were 35 years old), they had a
stellar record of reliability, unlike some of the Comet cars (IVs?) that
have followed.

I remember so clearly when the Comet I's and U34CHs arrived. The very
epitome of modernity and efficiency. What a contrast with the tired old
rusty MUs. I agree the Comet I's for the most part don't look dated 35
years on. Do they still have the lovely 1970's orange and brown seats &
fake woodgraining?
