(erielack) EL Vet Rich Byrne passes away

Former Erie Lackawanna employee Rich Byrne passed away this weekend.  After returning from US Army service in Vietnam in the mid 1960's, Richie began his career in towers & ticket offices, then became a railroad Policeman, continuing into the Conrail era.  After 13 years of police work, he joined the Electric Traction department. Richie worked out of the M&E Line offices at Summit Station for the past 15 or so years. He retired from NJ TRANSIT in January 2006, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in April, and passed away on August 19.
