Group:
37 years ago today, Victor Williamson took my twin Brother (Kent) and I (Kevin) on our first Rail Fanning Road Trip. It
wasn't"t very far from Marion, in fact, it was Huntington, IN. It was the first time we got to see the Erie Lackackawanna. The
Norfolk and Western crossed the E-L also there. We arrived probably around 7:00am or so. I remember the sun rising on the way there
with a very large orange ball coming up on that morning. Our first siting was a E-L RS-3 parked on the engine track at the yards. A
short time later, a 3 unit set up of E-L E-8's eastbound pulled up to the freight station to change crews as Huntington was a crew
change point for all of the E-L trains passing through. We shot a few cheap ole pictures with our Brownie cameras, and then took 8mm
movies of them pulling out of town. To make a long story short, I will close with saying we had a great day all the way to almost
sunset. We got to see that large orange ball set on the way home. During the
day at some point while waiting for some more trains to arrive. Vic took my brothers and myself photo on the long end of a EL
SDP-45. Click in the link below to view it.

This is kinda my way to celebrate this day 37 years past. I hope you enjoyed the short story of 37 Years Later Today. Take
care and Happy and Safe Rail fanning to all.
Kevin
