I was in Baltimore yesterday and had a chance to visit the B&O railroad museum. Here's a photo of the Reading T-1 (2101) that ran on the EL back in 1975 hauling the American Freedom Train. It still retains it's American Freedom Train paint scheme, now faded and rusting on an outdoor display track outside the museum,
The American Freedom Train, toured the country to commemorate the United States Bicentennial. The 26-car train included 10 display cars that held over 500 precious treasures of Americana. Included in these were artifacts ranging from George Washington's copy of the Constitution to a moon rock. More than 7 million Americans visited the train during its tour of all 48 contiguous states, many list members will recall the train was displayed in Morris Plans on the EL.
