RE: (erielack) Remains of the EL west of Marion, Ohio?

Fred,

In Indiana, there is precious little left in the way of mainline track. For the most part, the Erie is just a wide spot in the weeds, with a few signal bridges/masts/relay houses, regular bridges and four depots (Three along the tracks: Akron, Rochester & Monterey [Assuming that Monterey still stands] and one moved to Allen County: Kingsland) remaining. The only tracks that remain are in North Judson and belong to a museum (Wabash Valley?).

I recall a stretch west of Lima that operated briefly as the Tippecanoe or the Erie Western, but I photographed a bunch of stored boxcars on this line next to a dead semaphore signal in 1984 if memory serves. > Fred Hyde> Monona, WI
