(erielack) Charlie Sutton



A nicer guy you couldn't possibly meet!  Charlie was  a boomer in that he
worked all the local roads, NYS&W, L&HR, ( Disp  Office ) and EL, into CR.
I remember Charlie from Dover  Tower.  He lost his eye sight a number of
years ago, but was always a  fixture at the L&HR Veterans Dinner, and always
talkative.  So sorry to  come home from vacation an find this Email.

    Charles Sutton
(September 9, 1927  - May 26, 2009)
Charles Sutton, age 81, of Kinnelon,  died Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Mr.
Sutton was born in Sussex, NJ, the son of  the late Charles and the late Florence
(Arnott) Sutton. He served in the  Army, and over a 40 year span was
employed by NJ Transit, Hoboken, NJ,  N.Y.S & W RR, Hoboken, NJ, L.&.H.R.R.,
Warwick, NY, and Amtrak,  Hoboken, NJ. Charles was an assistant to the Director
of Gleaners Thrift  Shop, and was also their moving Coordinator, located in
Butler United  Methodist Church, Butler, NJ. He was a member of Butler United
Methodist  Church, and the Leigh and Hudson River Railway Veterans
Association, in  Warwick, NY. He is survived by his beloved children, Dixie Lee
Sutton, and  Gregory Sutton, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Charles is
predeceased by his devoted wife Bernice. Viewing hours will be Friday, May
29th, 2009, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm, at The Morrison Funeral Home, 86
Bartholdi Avenue, Butler, NJ. The funeral service will be held Saturday  11:00am
at Butler United Methodist Church, Butler, NJ. Burial to follow at  North
Hardyston Cemetery, Hardyston, NJ.
