Re: (erielack) Bachmann
Dale:
The EL Bachmann units are available now - many on eBay at this time. They are OK models with limited detail as compared to Spectrum or Genesis models. They run well. The two body details that may be of concern: 1] there is no dynamic brake detail on the roof (fixable with the Cal-Scale detail part] and 2] the headlight on the A unit looks somewhat wierd as there is no glass and the front interior plate for the two sealed beam units is not recessed very deeply. The colors are OK but the lettering is not that good. There were only 2 A units in gmy and only 2 B units in gmy according to Paul T. I took the lettering off with Walthers Solva-Set and redecalled the. Prime Mover decals will help you get the most accurate lettering although I used some AccuCal decals I had on hand.
Paul T - can you send another message to help Dale giving him the numbers and lettering style on these four units?
Bachmann has made the units available DCC ready and with a low cost Soundtraxx unit installed. The latter has good sound but only the basic sounds.

Nothings been said here about the announcement in the Feb RMC that
Bachmann will be doing FA2's in CN and EL colours. Given we've been
spoiled with the increased detail and accuracy of P1000/P2000/Rapido et
al, I'm not going to hold my breath. The photo in the ad doesn't even
have a number in the number board.
