"Rock_Jct_Photo.jpg" - image/jpeg, 2424x1932 (256c)

Can anyone please shed some light on this photo? We know that the Erie &
Wyoming Valley never had Rock Junction, Dunmore, PA, listed as a station stop
as no one lived in that area. We also know that the mine runs at Rock Jct.
would be placed on the "shelf" when the few E&WV passenger runs
(Scranton-Hawley) went through.

The terrain suggests what looks like the outskirts of Dunmore and in the
background it looks like the old Drinker Turnpike running across what is now
in the vicinity of the junction of I380, I84 and I81.

The shanty/depot structure looks as though it's on stilts and to the right
in the distance can be seen early coal hoppers. One only wonders what the
two well-dressed men were doing there.

I did a search on Rock Junction and only came up with tourist destinations
in other areas. If anyone has any thoughts on this photo, they are greatly
appreciated.
