Subject: Prototype photo of Yarmouth Model Works Resin Model of DL&W Auto Boxcar
"DLW_Newton_1950_autocar_spotting_Hal_Carstens_collection_MDV_edit_credit.jpg" - image/jpeg, 2744x1655 (256c)

HI,

Thanks to Mike DelVecchio's extensive image collection, we now have a photo
of the actual rebuilt auto boxcar that Yarmouth Model Works has made
available as a resin kit. This is a very unique car, but was according to
Mike," . there were thousands of them, they were so common yet they had a
unique end so no model company will ever produce them other than a resin
kit. The only other boxcars to use that same end were KCS autocars, which
also will never be produced." The DL&W had 350 of them rebuilt from USRA
double sheathed boxcars and the photo Mike supplied shows it being spotted
at Newton, presumable to unload new automobiles at the Newton Freight House.
Also is a photo of my stand-in auto double door boxcar at my model of the
Newton Freight House - now I can retire that stand-in and have an accurate
model of this unique car!

Just in case anyone missed it, here is the link to Yarmouth again:
