Lynn and list:

I have been wondering about the Erie depot colors myself as I have an Erie
Station kit (Hancock, NY) coming out soon. I don't think the structures used
a light green, but that is only my opinion. I think it was much more of a
cream or very light buff color.

For the main color, I custom mixed a color using Polly-Scale acrylics; I
started with 2/3 white and about 1/3 yellow, plus a drop of red. This made a
pleasing (to me) field color. I used Badger Northern pacific Light Green for
the dark green trim (yes, you read right). The window sashes were red, what
I think is called 'Chinese Red' ? I used a spray primer that has a rusty
orange hue that I find very appealing. There were other details that may
have received the red trim color - on Hancock Station the trim under the
roof eave had alternating green and red. I have attached a photo of my pilot
model for all to judge as regards colors (note that my structure paint jobs
get a wash of thinned India ink which imparts a bit of a greenish cast to
the field color).

And, any other list members that would care to, please share your favorite
paint colors. This is a very common request and preparing a spreadsheet will
be very helpful.

Many thanks;

Subject: (erielack) Depot colors ???

Does anyone have product numbers or formulas for the 2 tone green paint
scheme ???
Was there a 3rd or sash color on stations with the 2 tone green ???
Any restoration photos in circulation ???
The Industry depot is being repainted, last time the lighter color was
tinted
incorrectly but was used anyway, it was too far on the white side of green
as applied ,and aged even lighter.

thanks,
lynn
