Hi folks,

Here's a slightly revised version of this morning's "big map," with changes listed below by Jim Gerofsky... Enjoy, and study carefully - LOTS to see on this map!

- Paul

Some lunch hour second thoughts. I now believe that
you were correct, the New Connection was to the west
of the old Boonton Line alignment. I previously showed
it to the east, but thinking back, there wasn't any
bridge on that short 1956 connector between Erie
Bergen Jct. and DLW Bergen Jct. Plus I made the
arrangement down by OS somewhat more realistic,
thinking back to those Bob Collins shots of the rush
hour on the ramp up to the Archways - you clearly see
OS Tower in those shots just north of the Archways
approach, even though the east side of the tunnel was
below and slightly south of the Archways. I also
added the PRR (i.e. Corridor), and showed the modern
connector for Secaucus Jct. I also colored the
post-1966 passenger routes during EL days in blue;
pre-66 would have to include the Northern and the High
Line (ex-Erie passenger main east of Erie Bergen Jct.)
where the Northern Branch trains did that back-up
move.
