I'm 74 years old....hard to believe, but I WILL have lots of great slide fotos for my presentation in Scranton. Most of them are almost 50 years old and taken in & around Scranton, Bing, Youngstown. I wish I'd taken thousands, but THESE are while working there.
I have also decided to sell off most of my memorabilia.......1.My Hamilton 992B watch & chain with its' inspection card from Tomassi
Jewelers in Binghamton. I had it engraved with my name & ERIE 1959-60; ELRR 1960-71; Auto-Train 1971-81.

2. I also have my uncle's Hamilton watch & chain which is engraved - L. R. S.; No. 9; 1-21-48. Uncle Louis like many in West Pittston worked for the LVRR at Coxton as a trainman/brakeman. The only significance here is The Black Diamond ran as #9. He passed away & I inherited the watch in 1955 just before I went in the USAF. This watch is NOT a 992B, but is a 17 jewel movement & I think it was a 'presentation' rrather than a 'working' RR watch. Still keeps good time - just like mine.

3. Locomotive marker lamps fresh off the front of the boiler. These are Pyle-National & similar to the markers on the front of the CP 2317.........MASSIVE. They're still in good shape altho one of the fresnel lenses is cracked. The damper-like levers on the sides flip the green glass inside to change the classification of the train you're pulling. I HAD 2 sets of these that I got from Clarence Lavelle - night roundhouse foreman in Conklin yard. I sold one set to a classmate at Harpur college & he had them on posts at the end of his driveway in Johnson City. After about 2 or 3 months, somebody came at night & unbolted them. Mine are wired for 110 volt but I NEVER mounted them outside. Whoever buys them will get 3 extra Fresnel lenses that were in the box I had them in.
Attn. Mr. Del Vechio I hope the fotos come thru OK. U asked me about these markers & I hope this will clarify for u.

NOW I'm going to try & send fotos of this stuff as an attachment......If it don't go through, I'll try again tomorrow when my computer consultant (granddaughter) is here to coach me.

Regards,

Walt Smith
