Subject: EL coal train power for year 2000 and beyond

Had the EL survived, there no doubt would have been some involvement in Powder River Coal.
If we assume the power plants located on the EL were converted to burn western coal, the
EL would probably have purchased some coal power to pool with the western roads. For the
"what if" roster, lets say there were 20 of these 4300 hp ACs, many of which spend time
off-line returning horsepower-hours owed to coal partner UP. No lightning stripe for these.

Here, EL SD9043MAC 4318 is trailing UP AC44 6812 and UP SD9043MAC 8300 past the soybeans on
the connector between the ex-RI Spine Line and the ex-CNW East-West mainline in Nevada IA.
This UP coal train is returning to Wyoming from a power plant near St Paul MN.

Another 6 hours to photoshop UP 8303 to EL 4318. Got nothing to do today. Hmmm, I wonder
what it would look like with D&H lightning stripes?
