I spend most of the day under the hood of a car, inspecting a car, or trying
to sell a car.   End result, the thing with the pistons in it - is a motor.
455, 350, 4.3L, whatever -


Now if you want to get that critical, an engine is the entire locomotive,
coming from it's use in the terms "steam engine" or "diesel engine".   The
diesel itself, the thing with the pistons in it, is the Prime Mover, the
EMDs mentioned having two, the Alcos one.

don't confuse motors with engines in locomotives.
