I was train watching at Denville this afternoon and was totally surprised
to see an NS freight go east on the Boonton Line at 2:03 pm. Consist:
GP38-2 5484 (ex-CR), spine car of plywood (Georgia-Pacific?), two boxcars
(YA marks, for the new customer east of Boonton?) and two covered hoppers
(for that customer west of Great Notch?
How does NJT work a train like this in the face of westbound service? I
expect it went into GP and train 1027 passed while there, then it went to
Boonton and 1029 went by, then they dashed for Lincoln Park?
