This was an issue with Life-Like, not Walthers. I spoke with a rep there, and they admitted that they "oopsed" on the one side of the locomotives (not sure how such a big OOPS happened!) - particularly odd since the B-units are correct, and the opposite side of the A-units are similarly correct.
Time for some black paint and a decal, I'm afraid.
