Actually, it was the NYO&W that built the West Shore. That Port Jervis branch broke off of the O&W main at Summitville NY and went down to Valley Jct. where the branch to Monticello NY split from the Port Jervis line. Right near Ed's house on Ball street is the remains of a coal dealer where the O&W had a pretty nasty wreck. The line joined the Erie just west of BC tower.
