You list only 3 xEL SDP45's on UP, I have a listing sowing 6 they are the
following-
1. xEL 3654, UP 2767, xSP 8691, xVMV 6685, xCR 6685
2. xEL 3659, UP 2772, xSP 8696, xVMV 6690, xCR 6690
3. xEL 3662, UP 2771, xSP 8695, xVMV 6693, xCR 6693
4. xEL 3665, UP 2770, xSP 8694, xVMV 6696, xCR 6696
5. xEL 3666, UP 2769, xSP 8693, xVMV 6697, xCR 6697
6. xEL 3667, UP 2768, xSP 8692, xVMV 6699, xCR 6699
Also Montana Rail Link 332 is xEL 3657 a wreck rebuild with a rear end
similar to
SD45-2
HELM 6515 is xEL 3655 xVMV 6686, xCR 6686, xMK 9510
EL 3639 in Roanoke museum
That makes 9 of the EL SDP45's still around
Can any one confirm or give me some correction on the above list
Thanks

More interesting is the preserved SDP45 in Roanoke. Conrail dropped the
lease on the Dereco-financed units, and they reverted to Norfok Southern,
who ran the last miles out of them (some still in EL paint). I believe the
reason the one went to the museum was as part of a swap to get either the
611 or the 1218 back for the steam program. I'd have to look up in Diesel
Era or X2200S now, but one order of those was more or less scrapped entirely
when they were retired, and the other order became lease-fleet fodder and as
a result rebuild fodder that allowed at least 4 of them to survive in
service to this day (3 on UP, one HELM).
