This auction is for large format sheet music for ON THE 5.15, lyric by
Stanley Murphy, music Henry I. Marshall, Jerome H. Remick & Co., 1914. The
cover has a train schedule with cities and times listed. It appears to be a
New York schedule as the top reads "Hudson River Tubes, NY Broadway & 33d
St., NY Terminal Building, Trains leave Broadway and 33d St., Trains leave
23d St. and Sixth Ave., Trains leave the Terminal Building" The train stops
mentioned on the schedule Carlstadt, Woodridge, Hasbrouck Heights, Williams
Avenue, Hackensack, Central Ave., Anderson St., Fairmont Ave., North
Hackensack, River Edge, New Milford, Oradell, Emerson, Westwood, Hillsdale,
Hillsdale Manor, Woodcliff Lake, Park Ridge Montvale, Pearl River, Nanuet,
Nanuet Crossing, Bardonia, Germonds, Durant, New City, Spring Valley, Union,
New Hempstead, Summit Park, Pomona. All pages are separated, a 1” right edge
tear, a few other tiny tears 3/8” or smaller, corner tip wear, a few lines
of writing on the right edge of the back cover, a date written on the top
edge of the front cover, and a soil spot on the bottom edge of the middle
music page.
I have been advised by another eBayer that "this is mainly a New Jersey
schedule. The train began in NYC and went west immediately under the Hudson
River to NJ, where it went north. All the towns you have listed from
Carlstadt to Montvale are NJ towns. Montvale is the northernmost NJ town on
this line before it reached Rockland County in New York State, where the
remaining towns are located." Hopefully, this information is helpful!
