The siding you are probably thinking about went east from Slateford Jct  
across the Delaware River Br to somewhere close to the west end of Paulinskill 
 Viaduct.

I didn't know the line was single tracked between Slateford  Jct and Bells
Bridge so early. Wasn't there a passing siding somewhere  between these two
points that was taken up(for some reason)in the EL years?  In some early EL
era photo's it is double track while in later ones it is  single.
