Protective side-panels began to be applied to existing autoracks in late
1970, and around the same time were applied to new racks. They appeared in
increasing numbers during the decade and exhibited great variety. Some of
the earliest were translucent panels and Espee used a see-through wire mesh
on some cars. Although fully-enclosed autoracks date to 1975, I don't think
any appeared on EL routes prior to Conrail due to insufficient clearances.
The Accurail car is indeed a bilevel (TTBX) but I imagine they'll be using
it on their trilevel also. The car shown is a pre-production model.

Hi folks,
Accurail just announced partially-enclosed (they appear to be bi-level)
autoracks:

These should be accurate for mid-1970s EL modelers.
