RE: (erielack) NJ/PA - Environmental Assessment for Lackawanna Cutoff now available

MARTZ Trailways has the alleged train service to Scranton, Express via Route 80 where not an inch of track has been laid to and from Port Morris, NJ and Gravel Place.

MARTZ fares are a lot lower than what combined NJ/PA Rail Fares would be and would not return to the trains which is why there is no demand for them. What currently operates is more then sufficient and economical.

Where are them West Shore commuter trains talked of for the past 50 years? After four railroads the NYC, PC, CR and and now CSX is still 100% freight only to and from Kearny and MP132 Selkirk, NY. Would be passengers just drive over the Newburgh, Bear Mountain and Tappan Zee bridge's and take the much quicker and economical Hudson Line. Not so if West Shore were revived.

Because the state of Pa. will be subsidizing that portion....

And there *is* a market for that. Look at all the Martz buses on Route 80!
