Re: (erielack) Erie terminal at Jersey City
Walter,
The Erie Station was located toward the left -- it's an open
area in this c1960 photo, with the two north platforms still
extant, but you can clearly see the platform kiosks that led
the the H&M Station. Tracks are gone in that section.
There;s nothing left of the headhouse.
There are quite a few pictures of the Erie station in the
various Next Station Will be books, of course.
Cheers,
Jim

Subject: (erielack) Erie terminal at Jersey City
Hello,
Which of the railroad yards shown in the aerial photograph
at the following link was the location of the Erie Pavonia
terminal at Jersey City?
http://www.flickr.com/photos/59635146_@_N08/6478913999/sizes/l/in/photostream/
Does anyone know if the 1886 Erie Pavonia terminal shown in
the illustration at
http://www.catskillarchive.com/rrextra/rspav.html survive
intact during the 1920s with relatively little changes to
the exterior?
When did the exterior of the building get demolished?
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Walter Conklin
