Perhaps the source is in error and either DL&W or CNJ will be in place of 
the New Haven - per the map in my March 2010 Trains magazine, NS does not 
operate on any former NH track, so it doesn't make much sense to have a 
heritage NH unit.  However they do operate on the other two roads.  Even a 
D&H unit would make more sense.

New York Central would also be another more likely candidate, although I 
would presume it's omitted because CSX owns the rights to the name.

I've done models of the LV red on newer diesels (SD60Ms) and the scheme 
adapts pretty well regardless what stripe variant you use, too bad EMD went 
from their good looking cabs to the ugly ones with the same windshields as 
GE uses.
