(erielack) Common foreign roadnames on DL&W

Hi,
I tried a Google search for info and came up empty, so:
I'm modelling the Lackawanna in O scale ('47-'57 period -- Old Main/Sussex branch around Netcong) and am trying to amass a freight car roster that would seem typical for the time and place. Were there any foreign roads' freight cars that seemed to appear on the Lackawanna more than others? I'm guessing friendly connections might be a good place to start. Would I be correct in assuming Nickle Plate and Wabash for starters? What about New England roads like New Haven, Boston & Maine and Delaware & Hudson? Should I just follow the roads that had the biggest rosters (PRR, NYC, B&O, ATSF, MILW SP) of cars? I plead -- and apologize for my -- ignorance.
If this has been covered before, I apologize -- as I said, I attempted a search and came up empty.
Thanks for any and all info!
