This is a great project that will garner tons of good p.r. NS knows it will get letters, but the letters will mean more if they have no negative connotations at all. Suggest that they add another paint scheme to the mix and mention no dissapointments.

Or, go one further and request that instead one of the new units, they put the EL paint scheme on one of the remaining former-EL SD45-2s, which other than the number would be authentic. The trade-off would be that the SD45-2s may not be in service that many more years.  But an EL SD45-2 would leave one of the 18 new units available for the DL&W freight stripes. The EL unit will be ready for preservation as a result.  Everybody wins.

Great news from NS.  If you're happy, buy some stock.

(I would have prefered the black and gold freight wings on the Erie unit rather than the passenger colors.)

First of all I applaud the whole project, I'm not bashing it, just going to point out a few things.   Sure it's their RR, and the can and will do what ever they want,  but when public outcry came  with using a bucket  as atoilet they listened .  When Perry Shoemaker heard what everyone had  to sayabout the Gray Ghost paint scheme he scrapped it.  Strength is in  numbers.
If there were NO railfan's, and NO  train photographers, do you think  theywould be going through all this?
I'll go on record for saying the ELHS should sent Mr Moorman an official letter stating they are very pleased that he is doing heritage units and that they look forward to seeing  the Erie and EL units, but that they  arealso very disappointed in not seeing a Lackawanna unit.
