Dear Sid (and All):

I do know of one depot that you don't yet have. Some of you may be aware of the America's River Project and the Mississippi River Discovery Center and Aquarium which has recently opened in Dubuque, Iowa. As a part of the Discovery Center, you can now see a reconstructed CB&Q (later CB&N) passenger depot that is being used as a cafeteria.

I'm particularly excited about this depot because I am the architect who did the research and drawings for the reconstruction. What a gratifying project! I believe that I may have sent the group photos of the depot, a year or two ago, before work was started. It had been drastically changed over the years, but now looks, from the exterior, like it did when it was built, except for the etched glass window with the CB&Q logo (recreating that was not in the client's budget!), the breezeway between the passenger depot and the baggage room had to be enclosed with glass, and there is no platform. The interior is not historically accurate, though it is a nice space.

I took some pictures last weekend that I thought you might enjoy seeing. Feel free to add them to your collection if you like. If I can get access to the photos from a few years ago, I'll send that later. It's an interesting comparison.
