(erielack) Turning the calendar...

OK, since I'm off to Toronto on business this Sunday and won't be here
Monday to flip the EL calendar, let's do it today! :)

The October calendar photo is, IMHO, arguably the best of the bunch. A
trio of clean DL&W Train Masters lead an eastbound freight towards New
Jersey, just east of Slateford Junction, Pa. The large, puffy, almost
Photoshop-like clouds in the sky and the early changes of fall help to
enhance this already colorful images. The DL&W ballast is pretty sharp
in this just-prior-to-merger view. I have many memories hiking up Mount
Tammany (in the background across the Delaware River) looking down at
this very location.

Of note is the load immediately behind the power (looks like possibly a
bulldozer on a flat?) and the unique-roofline B&O boxcar just behind
that. Also interesting (to me at least) is the fact that the ballast
isn't a uniform color but rather a mixture of light and dark gray
shades.

Overall, a wonderful October shot!
