Trainsheet_SJTower_3-30-76.jpg (image/jpeg, 1753x1275 1089668 bytes, BF: 2.05 ppb)

Thanks for the correction Rick. After double checking, I found I had looked at the March 30, 1976 trainsheet for SJ Tower instead of March 31, 1976. Am attaching it here for those who may be interested in the second to the last day of the EL West End. It appeared to be an average day with 8 eastbound trains and 6 westbound trains thru Lima, Ohio plus yard engine moves. Note BN99 lead unit 2452 stopped at SJ Tower (where the EL crossed the D.T.&I.) at 2310 hrs (1110PM) to set off 26 cars on the D.T.&I. interchange track and departed at 2326 (1126PM). Three eastbound trains - CO78 (Chicago 78) lead unit 817, MILW76 lead unit MILW 805 and N78 (Huntington 78)lead unit 831 also set off and picked up at Lima Yard. Note there was no 2nd NY100 that day.

Does anyone have a copy of the trainsheet for March 31, 1976 from any EL tower?

Phil's description is accurate except for the information on the last train
on the old Chicago & Erie trackage. The last train on this section was not BN99,
it was the IHB97 departed Huntington at 1945 HRs {7:45PM}. Orders were
given from Marion that all trains be off the trackage by Midnight April 1. The
Huntington Hearld Press and Fort Wayne Journal both had a nice article with pictures
taken by Louis Zahm of the train leaving Huntington. I was the head brakeman on
this train, Leo Smith who just passed recently was the Conductor.

Phil Albano did a thorough review of the disposiiton of EL's west end in
this forum on 10/25/2006. Check out:
