Well....

1) This is a moderated list, with rules (there's a concept! :)
2) There really is no reason for political slams on this list.
3) Mike Dodge's column discusses items DIRECTLY RELEVANT to the EL and
predecessors. Is Martz Bus Lines? The cost of flying by plane today from
Scranton to Boston?

Obviously we have discussions of post-1976 items relevant to EL. The
original post definitely fit this category. But it quickly devolved into a
latter-day political discussion and a forum on latter-day bus vs. train
benefits. Now we're drifting WAY off list topic.

And I would HIGHLY suggest reading the Environmental Assessment, rather than
complaining about NIMBYs and buses. All that is mostly hearsay, whereas the
EA is a factual study. I'm willing to bet that most of the people with the
most vociferous opinions haven't even bothered to even leaf through it. Yes,
it's long, but there are a lot of really good nuggets in there.

Now let's put this thread to an end, please. I think it's thorough run its
course. If you'd like to continue your discussions on this thread, please
take them off-list.
