Re: (erielack) Common foreign roadnames on DL&W

One thing I do remember about Lackawanna through freights is that they
seemed to carry a lot of "Armour" and "Swift" wooden refrigerator cars.
There there were the air-operated cement canisters on gondolas. I assume
they were picked up at Slateford Jct and forwarded to Hoboken/New York
City. I watched the freights in Mountain View. I have also viewed
freights "Mark I" videos. 8mm film shot along the Cut-Off. They had
several New England carriers including the yellow and green Rutland
boxcars. Up until the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway, Lackawanna
probably forwarded a lot of midwestern grain to Hoboken for export. That
could included the primary interchanges with the Nickle Plate and whoever
the midwest freight agent for Lackawanna could get to route grain on the
DL&W to the NYC gateway.
